Day 2 - Sunday September 1st
After a good sleep on the overnight we headed for the Gotthard for my first trip into Italy. The morning was fairly gloomy but once we got down the other side of the mountain the weather was lovely.
Nice backdrops for the photos too.
And a rare chance to see a Swiss diesel before heading on to Milan.
Our train from Chiasso arrived at Milano Porta Garibaldi so rather than get across town to Centrale the easy way.
We did a leap to Rho and got a train back to
Centrale. From there to Venezia and from there on to the overnight to Slovenia via Trieste.
My abiding memory of Italy ? They have a graffiti problem !
