After the joys of a 158 from Gloucester to Swindon for an HST into Paddington, the real journey started with the Eurostar to Lille.
After a couple of leaps and much gibbering from me as my
beloved Birmingham City beat Leeds with someone else using my season ticket to
watch the match, we arrived at Lille Flandres for train 842427 expecting a 16500 - WRONG !
We travelled via Arras to Amiens where we took 17097 to Paris Nord.
Finally, after dinner in Paris we wandered to Est for the overnight to Basel.
