BR 47826 heads north through The Reddings, near Cheltenham on 07/08/2001.
After a traction motor fire at Stone on the 29th March 47826 had a very long lay off this summer, so it was a bit of a surprise to see it return to traffic on the 7th August without having had a repaint, either a touch up of its InterCity livery or an application of the Virgin livery. It has now been touched up a bit and has also been reunited with its "Springburn" nameplates as one of Virgin's series of four repainted locomotives to celebrate the sterling work the class has done over the years. Having worked south on 1V35, the 06:05 Derby - Plymouth, it is seen here returning north on 1M40, the 11:50 Plymouth - Liverpool.
