BR D172 (46035) at Keighley on 04/08/2001.
One of Pete Waterman's lasting legacys for railways in the UK was to push through the first preserved diesel to return to mainline running. Here D172 pauses at Keighley before running empty to Neville Hill on Pathfinder Tours' "The Worth-While" excursion, which had brought a trainload of passengers into the Yorkshire dales, many of whom (myself included) popped over the bridge to indulge in some more heritage traction in the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway's diesel gala.
