SNCB 8011 stands at Forges de Clabecq on the 25th January 2002 with 8047 at the rear of the train.
The class 80 should look familiar to anyone who has travelled in Germany as they are the same as the DB class 360/364 and were originally intended to be a standard European shunter. Now, however, SNCB wants to be rid of them and they are scheduled to be withdrawn by June 2002 with Scharbeek receiving class 82s to replace them. The 82s have started to arrive and the 80s are being steadily withdrawn so when Mercia Charters ran their tour "The Time Trap" to Clabecq and Quenast with Scharbeek shunters, class 80s were the first choice.
